How to Check If Someone Is on Bumble
Updated
Bumble says you can't search by name. In the US on iOS, you can find someone only with their exact @handle, if they made one and have not hidden it. Members can also use Snooze or paid Incognito, and Bumble shows no last-active indicator. Bumble is not among the sites CheaterExposer searches, so any public check relies on other sites.
Can you search for someone on Bumble?
Not by name. Bumble does have an optional Handles feature, currently only for members in the USA using iOS. You can enter someone’s exact @handle in Search by @handle, but you can’t search by name, use a partial or similar spelling, or browse other people’s handles. You can only find members in your own country.
- A handle only works if the person created one and has not chosen Hide me from search.
- Bumble advises against using a full name as a handle, so guessing one is unlikely to work.
- Do not make a fake profile or use someone else’s account to look.
How can someone hide on Bumble?
Snooze Mode hides a profile for 24 hours, 72 hours, a week or indefinitely, while the member can keep chatting with existing connections. Incognito Mode, part of Bumble Premium and Premium+, means only people they have liked will see them.
Can you tell if someone is active on Bumble?
No. Bumble says it doesn’t show when members are online or when they last used the app, whether or not Incognito Mode is on. Seeing a profile doesn’t tell you when it was last used.
What can you check from outside the app?
Bumble has discontinued its web version, so it now directs people to its mobile app. Bumble is also not among the dating sites CheaterExposer searches, so it will not tell you whether someone has a Bumble profile. It does search public results on Tinder, Plenty of Fish, Match, Badoo, MeetMe and Tagged, as well as public social profiles, and each result links to its public source.
- Reverse image search photos they have shared publicly.
- Compare several details together, not just a name.
- A profile elsewhere says nothing about Bumble, and it is not proof of cheating.
Could a Bumble profile be old?
Yes. Bumble says deleting the app or being inactive for a long time won’t automatically delete a profile. If a friend spots a profile, it may be left over from before your relationship. Deleted accounts are no longer viewable on the app, and Bumble says they can be restored for up to 28 days.
What if a Bumble profile is fake?
Open the profile, scroll to the bottom and select report, or block and report. Bumble says reports are private and anonymous. If you have already unmatched the person, contact Bumble’s Support team with as much detail as you can.
